David Mello Obituary, Death – Concord Attorney and Family Man Dies at 63

David Michael Mello of Concord passed away peacefully on September 25, 2026, surrounded by his beloved family. He was 63.

David was the devoted husband of Netta Altimari-Mello and the proud father of Olivia and Sofia. His family remained at the heart of his life, and he was remembered for the love, strength, and unwavering support he gave to those closest to him.

Born October 12, 1962, David grew up in Fall River, Westport and Swansea. After graduating from Joseph Case High School in Swansea, he continued his education at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. He later received his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School.

Professional Career and Community Involvement

David was a founding partner of Onello & Mello P.C., where he developed a highly respected legal career. He was known for his professional knowledge, honesty, dedication and genuine concern for his clients.

His work extended beyond legal representation. David took an active interest in helping entrepreneurs and start-ups while also mentoring younger attorneys and staff. Colleagues and clients valued his willingness to share his experience and guidance, and many developed relationships with him that extended beyond the professional setting.

He also served on the Board of the Boston Intellectual Property Law Association and was a member of the UMass Club, where he served on its Board of Governors.

David’s Catholic faith was an important part of his life. He was a parishioner of Holy Family Parish in Concord and participated in church events, charitable efforts and mission trips.

Remembering David Mello

Outside of his professional and community commitments, David enjoyed an active life filled with sports and recreation. He completed two Boston Marathons, played a role in founding the AMHL Adult Hockey League in Concord, and enjoyed golf, baseball, skiing and attending sporting events.

Those who knew David are remembering him most deeply as a devoted family man. His marriage to Netta was built on love, friendship, mutual respect and a strong commitment to one another. Their daughters were a central source of his pride and happiness.

David was also known for his humility, generosity and thoughtfulness. He often helped others without seeking recognition, whether by offering advice, encouragement or simply being available to listen. His kindness and integrity left a lasting impression on the people around him.

He is survived by his wife, Netta, and daughters, Olivia and Sofia; his brothers, Kevin Mello and his wife Doreen of Hanson, and Ken Mello and his wife Jennifer of Foxborough; sisters-in-law Olga Altimari-Che and her husband Phi Che of Middleton and Anna Maria Altimari of Boston; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Stewart; his brother, Michael Mello; and his sister-in-law, Rita Botto.

Funeral Services

Family and friends will gather to remember David during visiting hours at Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street in Concord Center, on Thursday, October 1, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Additional visitation will take place Friday, October 2, from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Church at Holy Family Parish, 12 Monument Square, Concord Center. Burial will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Concord.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute or another organization supporting efforts to find a cure for glioblastoma.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord.
